This is a book I’d always wanted to read but could never find. So I published it. I grew up listening to the British invasion bands who consciously modeled themselves on American blues, and only later got to hear the original artists whose music became suddenly accessible to a whole new audience and generation. John is a musician and rock critic who tells the story of these shifting crosscurrents beautifully, and peppers the biographies of a dozen artists with perfect little moments of storytelling. Kind of like the Blues.
